Shallots (Allium cepa var aggregatum) are perennial bulbs. Shallots are easy to grow and are a really useful raw food staple. All parts of the shallot are edible; Chinese uses the long green leaves like spring onions for garnish or stir fry; the leaves and flowers can be eaten in salads. The bulbs can be used in place of any onion. The bulbs are purportedly milder than the large onions. Shipped in bare root wrapped with moist organic matter.
